Ambition

Prompt// Both Victor and Mo are ambitious to the point of obsession. What are their greatest desires and what are they willing to pay or sacrifice to achieve their goals?

Victor's greatest desire is to create life. He consumes himself to the point of not eating or sleeping. He wants this thing so bad and he will not stop until he gets what he is after. He is ambitious in a selfish way with this idea that he wants to see come to life. He is selfish in the fact that he does not go and visit any of his loved ones. He keeps to himself and choses not to communicate with his family or friends. They begin to see his life deteriorate and take a turn that ambition will take on a human. Victor also shows ambition when he chases down Mo at the end of the book. He shows that he will not stop until he finds Mo. Even though Mo leaves him clues, Victor can not find him and keeps going until he dies because of his ambition.

Mo's greatest desire is for Victor to make him a companion. He so badly wants a friend and some one to keep him company. He is lonely and begins to get selfish in his decisions and wants. He offers to stop the murderous rampage that he goes on and to move where there is no one else. His ambition is shown through these promises. He shows how much he wants this and will do anything to get it.

Selfishness is a very common theme shown through ambition. People want things so bad that they begin to get selfish and have selfish desires. Their selfishness begins to push others out of their lives and they do not have community anymore.
